   Bad Interview Day

Today is not my day… I had an interview today in the afternoon. It was for a position I did not applied for, and the position is different from my previous jobs. The night before the interview, I prepared everything: cloths, prints out of my resume and references, and the direction to the interview site. After double-checking everything, I thought I was set to go. Unfortunately, the day of the interview was not a smooth day for me....   Read more...

   Building a Doggie Pool

Sherla is a dog lover. She has two dogs, an Akita and a German Shepherd mix. The Akita is named Kuma and the German Shepherd mix is named Tiger. She was worried that Sacramento summer is too hot for them, so she decided to build a doggie pool for them. Since I am her best friend, I got to help her whether it was free will or not. When she informed her family about the project, everyone was shaking their heads with worries, but in the end, they gave in. So the project begun…   Read more...

   Rob by the IRS

I got rob by the IRS… I worked at a company for two years as a software analyst, and I resigned from the company in 2005 because I did not see myself growing within the company. After I quit the company, I cashed out my 401K and vacation/PTO time (about 280 hours). I was happy about the extra spending money, but I had to pay half of the money for tax.   Read more...

   Terrified By Dogs

I love animals ever since I was little. I have had numerous pets, birds, fish, lizards, turtles, mice and hamsters, but no dogs. One of the reasons is because my dad does not like dogs. He thinks dogs are too much to handle especially cleaning. Another reason is because I was terrified of dogs. I still think they are cute and adorable, but I would not touch nor get near a dog. I was frightened by their K-9 teeth.   Read more...

   Hand Surgery

I had a cyst on my right hand, below the ring finger, for about two years. When I first noticed the cyst, it was just a small lump, and it was not causing any pain. But after a year, the cyst had grown about half an inch in diameter, and it started to hurt. It would cause pain if someone shook my hand or if I brushed it against something. I went to the doctor to have it checked out, and he told me the reason it caused pain was because it was located on top a nerve. His suggestion was to have it surgically removed, and it would be a small surgery   Read more...

   I Love To Eat

Ever since I was little, I love to eat and can eat a lot. My friends always call me garbage disposer because I cannot stop eating even when I am full. I can out eat all of my friends. Luckily, I am blessed with high metabolism, so I don't gain weight on eating all the food I love. I live in Sacramento and there aren't that many good restaurants to choose from. I've tried cuisines from different cultures: American, Chinese, Indian, Ethiopian, Mexican, Middle Eastern, Japanese, and Korean....   Read more...

   Sea Fishing

It was the worst experience I've ever had. It's even worse than the dentist drilling on my tooth before the nesthetic kicked in. Someone gave me a 7-Up to ease the throwing. Bad choice again. That meant I have more stuff to throw up. I thought I was going to die from throwing up. I even screamed out loud "I am going to die!!!!!" I discovered a solution to help ease the throw up - to get my mind off the motion sickness, which was biting on my high school friend's arm and punching him....   Read more...

Trouble of Getting My Citizen Certificate Replacement

After showing my frustration to them, I was told that the only thing to do would be to re-submit the application and that the manager at the office would have it expedited. After a month pass, I received a rejection notice from the INS saying that I have to pay an application fee of $380, which I paid the fee initially, three years ago. The new fee is more than double of the original fee....   Read more...

   Bloody Raining Day

We were too traumatized that we just kept on walking. After walking half of a block, I saw red water streaming down my yellow raincoat. My first thought was “The rain is turning red.” I looked up at the sky to confirm, but the rain was not red. Couple of seconds later, I felt warm water running down from my forehead. I reached up to my forehead to check what it was. My whole hand was cover with blood and the rain was washing it away. I looked over at my brother and said “BLOOD!” We walked home as quickly as possible. For the first time in my life, I felt fear and hopelessness....   Read more...

   Birthday Gift Shopping Dilemma

Thinking of what to give her is troublesome already, but the worse is that I have to think of two gifts this year. Her boy friend, David, asked me to help him with his gift for her. He already picked out something for her, but his taste is totally different from her. One is modern and one is old fashion. He has failed on two birthdays in a roll already. He got her a bracelet and a pair of pearl earrings on her 30th and 31st birthdays....   Read more...
