Who is that
Today is Saturday
and we are going to have lunch with grandpa and grandma. After daddy and mommy dressed me up
, fed me,
changed my diaper and pack up my baby accessories, we headed out to meet
grandpa and grandma at their house. When
we arrived, a familiar face came to greed me.
At first, I looked at her with a blank face
and thought to myself, “Do I
know her? She looks very familiar. She is definitely not a stranger because I am
not scared of her.” After looking at her
for about a minute, then it dawned on me, “It’s auntie Becky!” I smiled at her, pointed my finger at her,
and said, “Ahh, whah!”
(Translate: Ah,
you are auntie Becky!)
When I stay at my
grandparents’ house on the weekdays, auntie Becky always visit me in the
afternoons. She would stay for few hours
to help baby-sit me and play with me. It
all changed about three weeks ago. She
stopped coming over. Everyday around
2:00 pm, I would look out the window
to check if she is coming, but there is no
sign of her. I wondered what happened to
her. Then slowly, I started to forget
who she is. Unexpectedly, she showed up
today. I was so happy to see her again. I kept on smiling at her
and wanted her to
hold me. I even put my forehead against
her forehead to show her that I missed her
.
During lunch,
mommy purposely sat me next to auntie Becky so we can catch up. Auntie Becky would talk to me, play with me,
and break up food into tiny pieces so that it would be easy for me to swallow. When I am bored from sitting at the
restaurant’s table, auntie Becky took me outside and practiced walking with
me. She would hold my hand and walk
slowly with me. When I see something I
like, she would hold both of my hands so that I can run toward that object.
After lunch, it
was time to say good-bye. I hope I can
see auntie Becky before I start to forget who she is again.
